Privacy

We collect as little as we can, and we never sell it. This page explains what we keep and why.

Who we are

ScentSunset is run from the Netherlands. The full operator details will be published here before launch. Contact: contact@scentsunset.com.

What we collect

• Your email address, when you join the list, plus the date you confirmed it.
• Your country, as reported by our network provider when you sign up, so we can show retailers in your region later.
• Corrections you send us, with your email address only if you give it, so we can reply.
• Technical logs (IP address, browser) kept for a short time to keep the site secure.

We use no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels. The only cookies are technical: a session cookie and a security token, set on pages with a form (search, alerts, corrections and sign-in) so the form works safely. They are needed for that, so they need no consent. The other pages set no cookie at all.

How we count visits

We count visits ourselves, without cookies and without any outside service. When a page opens, your browser tells us which page it is and which site linked to it. Per day we only add one to a few totals: that page, the linking site (for example google.com), the country our network provider reports, and whether it was a phone or a computer. We also count what people search for on the site, but not searches that look like an email address or phone number. We store no IP address, no identifier and nothing else that points to you, so these totals are not personal data. If your browser sends "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control, we do not count your visits at all.

Why

We email you because you asked us to and confirmed it (consent). You can withdraw that at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.

If you add your email to a correction, we use it only to reply to that correction (consent).

Who processes it for us

• Hosting: Vultr (an American company), on a server in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
• Email delivery: a provider with data storage in the EU.

How long

Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days. When you unsubscribe we keep only a record that you did, so we never email you again.

The email address on a correction is deleted 12 months after we handled it.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, and you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). Email us and we will reply within a month.
